Installing and activating MSA Light/trial version via the Google Play Store

MSA Light is free of charge and provides you with virus scanning. The installation provides you a trial version. Then you get the full functionality of the Premium version for 30 days. After this trial period, your device will continue to be protected by the virus scan.

Unfortunately, G DATA Mobile Security Android cannot be distributed via the Google Play Store in a few select countries. You can find here an overview of countries, in which installation via the Google Play Store is possible. If your country is not on this list, installation can be done with an APK installation file.

Installation guide

Install the light version of G DATA Mobile Security Android using the instructions below.

1	On your Android device, open the Google Play Store and search for the app "G DATA Mobile Security Light".
2	Tap Install.
3	MSA Light will be downloaded and installed. Open the app afterward.
4	Optionally, set the checkmarks in the two checkboxes. Tap Accept & Continue. This means you accept the End User-License Agreement and the Privacy Policy.
5	Tap Start 30-Day Trial.
6	You will now see the screen for entering the data required for the 30-day trial. Register by entering your first and last name and your email address. Optionally, tick the checkbox. Then tap on Start.
7	The app opens and you will now first receive an introduction to the functionalities of the app, through which you will be guided. you will see a message similar to the one visible in the screenshot. Tap Allow. If you do not allow the app to access the media, app functions - for example, virus scanning - cannot be performed.
8	The app will now automatically start a virus scan on your Android device. You will now have free access to all features of the Premium version for 30 days. After this trial period expires, your device will continue to be protected by the virus scan. The functions of the premium version are automatically deactivated.
