I get the message "Your computer has been scanned". What happened?

This is a message from your G DATA Firewall. Your PC has been scanned for open ports by an external party. Of course, your G DATA Firewall has prevented this scan or made your ports appear invisible.

The message ultimately says that the G DATA Firewall protection of your PC is working. Unfortunately, such scan attempts have become a common occurrence on the Internet. Often, for example, spammers try to find computers which they can then use to send spam unnoticed.
