G DATA Business Solutions: Client has no connection to the ManagementServer, what can I do?
If the client has not reported to the G DATA Management Server for a long time, you will find the entry No connection to server under Security status in the G DATA Administrator. This can have very different reasons. The employee is on holiday, the laptop was not in the company, etc.
This ist how you can solve the problem:
-
Check that the G DATA Security Client service is started on the client and can be restarted without any problems.
-
Open the command prompt with administrator rights (cmd).
-
Execute the following command:
telnet [name of server] 7161
-
Execute the following command:
telnet [IP of the server] 7161
-
If the connection is established for at least one of the commands, enter the working value (name or IP) in the value server of the registry of the client. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: Security Client Migration.
-
Check whether the client has now reported to G DATA Management Server and thus solved the problem.
-
If the client still does not report, create a debug file of the service G DATA Security Client according to the following instructions: Debugging with DebugView.
-
Create an .nfo and event log file according to the following instructions: Collecting data for the G DATA Business Support (.nfo and eventlogs).
-
Make sure that the G DATA Security Client has a version higher than 15.1. If this is not the case, please update the software.
-
Send both, indicating the problem and the last time the client was accessed, to our business support: G DATA Business Support.
Our colleagues will help you to analyse the problem.
