G DATA Business Solutions: Collecting data for the G DATA Business Support (.nfo and event logs)

The G DATA Business Support always requires a precise description of the problem and a complete description of the system on which the error occurs when dealing with technical questions and problems. If the problem occurs on several computers, information on a reference system is required.

Follow these steps to collect all relevant data:

1.

Search for System information using the Windows search (Win+Q).

2.

Run System Information as an administrator.

3.

Select File > Save. Leave the file type set to NFO.

4.

Search for the Event Viewer using the Windows search (Win+Q).

5.

Start the Event viewer.

6.

Go to Windows Logs > Application.

7.

Save the results under Actions > Save all events as…​ (file type *.evtx).

8.

Then go to Windows Logs > System.

9.

Also save the results under Actions > Save all events as…​ (file type *.evtx).

10.

If the G DATA Management Server is on the system, perform the following step:

Go to Application and Utilities > G DATA Management Server and save the results under Actions > Save all events as…​ (file type *.evtx).

11.

If necessary, send these files packed as a ZIP archive together with further information to our G DATA Business Support.
